All real estate agents are not the same. Only real estate agents who are members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® are properly called REALTORS®. They proudly display the REALTOR ® logo on the business card or other marketing and sales literature.
What’s In It For Me?
When a real estate licensee joins the Association of REALTORS®, they earn the right to call themselves a REALTOR®. REALTORS® pledge to adhere to a Code of Ethics, which means that all their activities in the conduct of their business must satisfy the strict obligations of the Code. The term REALTOR® has come to connote competency, fairness, and high integrity resulting from adherence to a lofty ideal of moral conduct in business relations.
I’m Still Not Convinced…
Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest financial decisions you will ever make, and you need someone you can trust, someone who can guide you through this complex transaction, someone who is more than just a real estate agent. You need a REALTOR®.

The REALTOR® Badge provides assurance to the consumer that the real estate agent is an active REALTOR® in good standing with NAR.
In California, the badge displays a link to the California Department of Real Estate, and when possible, the REALTOR®’s market areas, areas of specialization, committee assignments, and photo.
